ABC promotes the second season of its legal drama series “For Life” in a 60-second trailer, that gives viewers a glimpse at what’s coming next for the protagonist, Aaron Wallace.
The series, inspired by the life of Isaac Wright Jr. and executive produced by 50 Cent, revolves around Wallace, a wrongfully-convicted prisoner-turned-litigator and social crusader. In the upcoming season, he embarks on a more personal journey, “motivated by the hope of being reunited with his family and reclaiming a life of freedom to take up the mantle against systemic injustice from outside the prison walls”.
According to the official synopsis, Aaron continues his battle against the very political machine that once put him away, undeservedly, and has help from his family, a wily one-time public defender, Henry Roswell, and his former prison warden, Safiya Masry.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse at Wallace’s life, with him presenting in voiceover the reason he wanted to become a lawyer. “I’ve spent 9 years behind these walls, in this cell, for a crime I didn’t commit. It tore my family apart. It cost me my friends. Becoming a lawyer helped set me free. Now I’ll free others wrongly accused,” he says.
The song used in the trailer is Aloe Blacc’s 2020 single My Way.
For Life Season 2 premiered on ABC on November 18th.
