The trailer for the upcoming sci-fi movie Dune, from director Dennis Villeneuve, has been released.
The film, based Frank Herbert‘s 1965 novel, is set on the desert planet Arrakis, also known as Dune, where is available one of the most valuable resources in the universe, the spice melange, which is necessary for both space travel and immortality. Timothée Chalamet plays the main character Paul Atreides, who comes to Dune as teenaged royalty and turns into an uncomfortable messiah figure to the planet’s inhabitants, known as Fremen.
The cast also includes Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson and Dave Bautista.
The trailer features a brand new arrangement by composer Hans Zimmer of Pink Floyd’s Eclipse (which is the final track on their 1973 famed “Dark Side of the Moon” album).
“Dune” is scheduled for release in theaters on December 18, 2020.
