Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming film Enola Holmes, starring Millie Bobby Brown.
Directed by Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag), the movie follows Sherlock’s teen sister as she sets off on a quest to find her mother when she discovers her missing. According to the official synopsis, she becomes “a super-sleuth in her own right as she outwits her famous brother and unravels a dangerous conspiracy around a mysterious young Lord”.
The cast also includes Sam Claflin and Henry Cavill as her brothers and Helena Bonham-Carter as her mother, Eudoria.
The trailer opens with Brown’s character talking about herself and her relationship with her mother. She mentions that her name is spelled “Alone” backwards and that she used to spend her time together with her mom, which was “wonderful” from her point of view. On her mission to find her mother, Enola uses all her skills and does everything she can, including becoming something unexpected – a lady (in order to stay hidden from her brothers).
The trailer also features her encounter, on a train, with Viscount Twekesbury, because of whom she almost gets killed, and gives viewers a glimpse at her adventures.
The soundtrack music is the 1998 single Celebrity Skin by American alternative rock band Hole, from their third studio album of the same name.
Enola Holmes will launch on Netflix 23 September.
