HBO Max has released the trailer for the upcoming Kirstie Swain’s “brilliantly funny, emotive” series Pure, based on Rose Cartwright’s acclaimed biography.
The show stars Charlie Clive as Marnie, a “witty, smart, and ‘normal'” young woman who, after an incident at her parents’ wedding anniversary, packs a bag and sets off on a journey of self-discovery, finding friends, and learning how to love.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse into Marnie’s life, who goes to London to find some answers, as she reveals in voiceover. “Most people move to London to seek their fortune. I’ll settle for some answers,” she says. Another scene features her at a therapist who tells her that OCD is a recognized condition that people get help for.
The song used in the trailer is “Gotta Run” by Keiran Merrick, Marcel Bolano, Merrick Day & Theo Chinara.
Pure will be available on the streaming service starting August 27.
