Disney Plus promotes Hamilton, the recording of the hit stage musical Hamilton, inspired by the book “Alexander Hamilton” by Ron Chernow and directed by Thomas Kail.
According to the official synopsis, “Hamilton has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre – a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education”.
Filmed at The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June of 2016, the film transports its audience into the world of the Broadway show in a uniquely intimate way,” the streaming service reveals. The soundtrack blends jazz, hip-hop, R&B and Broadway.
The cast includes Daveed Diggs, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, Christopher Jackson, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr., Anthony Ramos, Philipa Soo, and Okieriete Onaodowan.
The song used in the trailer released by Disney Plus is “The Room Where It Happens”, a song from Act 2 of the musical, performed by Leslie Odom Jr., Lin-Manuel Miranda, Daveed Diggs, Okieriete Onaodowan, & the Cast of Hamilton, and included on the 2015 album Hamilton.
The movie was released on July 3rd, 2020, as a Disney Plus exclusive. Disney Plus costs $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year. There also is a $12.99-per-month option to bundle the service together with Hulu and ESPN+.
