Walgreens has teamed up with Bebe Rexha to celebrate the class of 2020.
On May 16, the singer/songwriter dropped a new track, titled “Here’s to 2020,” for which she adapted the music of the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance” (incorporating, besides new lyrics, a new melody and elements of hip-hop and EDM) to become an anthem to students rising above a “new normal” in honor of the grads of 2020. The advert, described as “an ode to finding happiness in the toughest of times,” was filmed entirely from her home and uses footage of real people celebrating in their own unique ways.
Asked by the Walgreens team if she has a message for the class of 2020, in an interview she gave, she said “Just because you didn’t get to physically be at graduation this year doesn’t mean graduating is any less meaningful! Celebrate with your families, bake a cake, throw your caps in the air and dance just as hard at home!”.
The retail chain encourages you to add some pomp to your circumstance and celebrate with same-day photos and gifts this special moment. Viewers are also encouraged to visit photo.walgreens.com to shop photo banners, posters, and more.
