In the wake of COVID-19, more and more Americans lack access to essentials they need to remain healthy and thrive and this is the reason why Unilever launched, in March, “United for America,” an initiative that aims to inspire collective action to deliver food, medical supplies, hygiene products, and other critical items to organizations supporting those most impacted by this crisis.

The brand has released a 60-second ad, which features factory workers putting in a “United for America” box various products, including soap, personal hygiene, home cleaning products, and food, which are then loaded in a truck to be delivered to those in need.

The soundtrack is the 1969 single “Put a Little Love in Your Heart” by Jackie DeShannon.

The United for America initiative includes an immediate product donation (such as personal care and hygiene products from Dove, Suave, Degree, TRESemmé, Shea Moisture, Axe, Schmidt’s, Dove Men+Care, Baby Dove, Caress, Love Beauty and Planet, St. Ives, and Nexxus; home cleaning and sanitization products from Seventh Generation; and food products from Knorr, Hellmann’s/Best Foods, Lipton, Tazo, Pure Leaf, Sir Kensington’s, and Maille) and will lead to a national Day of Service on May 21, when Unilever US will dedicate its workforce to the community and donate all the products manufactured at its factories that day or products of equal value to those impacted by COVID-19. The company also encourages its employees across the country to dedicate this day to volunteer opportunities that provide hygiene products, food, services, and hope to those impacted by the crisis.

Additionally, Unilever is donating more than 200,000 masks to local hospitals in New Jersey to help protect the lives of health care professionals.
