Amazon Prime has released the trailer for its upcoming original series My Spy, starring Dave Bautista.
According to the official synopsis, the show, from the director of “Get Smart,” follows JJ, “a hardened CIA operative (Dave Bautista) who has been demoted and finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl, named Sophie (Chloe Coleman) where he has been sent undercover begrudgingly to surveil her family. When Sophie discovers hidden cameras in her apartment she uses her tech savviness to locate where the surveillance operation is set. In exchange for not blowing JJ’s cover Sophie convinces him to spend time with her and teach her to be a spy. Despite his reluctance JJ finds he is no match for Sophie’s disarming charm and wit”.
The trailer shows how JJ receives one last chance to prove he is cut for intelligence and is caught by Sophie, who even records him while he shares with a woman his idea of killing the kid and making it look like an accident. She then comes up with an idea: she wants JJ to teach her how to be a spy. Throughout this “process” they get to know each other better and bond, apparently.
The songs used in the trailer are “Watch Me” by Jaden Smith (playing at the beginning) and “Break The Rules” by Charli XCX.
