Amazon Prime has released a teaser for the second season of its thriller drama series Hanna.
The show, based on the 2011 action thriller movie of the same title and launched on March 29, 2019, revolves around a young woman who is trained to become the perfect assassin by her father, ex-CIA operative.
The upcoming season, which sees David Farr returning as a screenwriter and executive producer, and Esme Creed-Miles, Joel Kinnaman, and Mireille Enos reprising their lead roles, features Hanna on the run as Utrax will do anything to control her now that she’s found others just like her. There will also be cast additions. Dermot Mulroney stars as Utrax overseer John Carmichael.
According to the official synopsis, “Following her discovery at the end of Season 1, Hanna now knows she is not the only young woman with unparalleled skill and elite training. The Utrax program has produced a whole contingent of highly trained teenagers whose development is about to reach the lethal ‘second phase'”.
The 30-second trailer, scored by Meg Myers’ 2014 single “Desire,” doesn’t offer anything in the way of plot details. It only features Mulroney’s character watching surveillance footage and spotting Hanna on one of the screens. The girl, whose hair is now blonde, turns around and looks at the camera.
Season 2 of Hanna is coming to Amazon Prime Video on July 3rd.
