Target has released a new commercial to announce that they’ve donated millions of masks and have raised the wages for their frontline team members.
“As part of our biggest relief effort ever we’re donating more than 2 million masks providing more than ever for our 340,000 frontline team members. We’ll never stop helping those who are helping all of us” onscreen lines read throughout the 30-second spot, titled “Together at Home,” which features some of retailer’s employees, as well as a diverse cast of children who have made rainbow-themed drawings and shared positive messages such as “Don’t worry be happy,” “This too shall pass,” and more.
The soundtrack music is the 2019 single “Rainbow” by American country music artist Kacey Musgraves, from her third studio album, “Golden Hour”. The singer did a live rendition of this song during Global Citizen’s “One World: Together at Home” coronavirus relief concert, on April 19. On this occasion, numerous other artists have performed for the benefit livestream. Among them were Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, and others.
In support of its team and guests, Target has taken increased safety measures and made operational changes. All these include increased cleanliness, masks and gloves for all team members, plexiglass shields at checklanes, monitoring & metering guest access, reminders for social distancing, quantity limits on in-demand items, and dedicated shopping hours for vulnerable guests and team. In addition, now all Target stores are closed by 9 p.m.
