Quibi has released the trailer for the upcoming comedy Dummy.
The show, created and written by Cody Heller and directed by Tricia Brock, revolves around an aspiring writer (Anna Kendrick), who befriends her boyfriend’s sex doll and takes on the world with her.
The cast also includes Donal Logue and Meredith Hagner.
The trailer features the moment Kendrick’s character meets her new “friend,” as well as the moment she tells her therapist that the doll is talking to her. “I’m having a nervous breakdown,” she tells her. “My boyfriend’s sex doll is talking to me.” The therapist’s answer is not very surprising: “I think she represents a part of you that wants to heal. Embrace her!” she advises Kendrick’s character.
The song used in the trailer is the 1978 dance hit “In The Bush” by Musique, from their “Keep On Jumpin'” album.
Dummy is coming to Quibi April 20.
The streaming service, whose name comes from “quick bites,” is currently offering a 90-day free trial to those who sign-up at Quibi.com before April 30.
