Peacock TV, the streaming service from NBCUniversal, is promoted in a new commercial, that gives viewers a glimpse into the movies and shows available to watch.
The spot is actually a 30-second montage of scenes from different shows and movies featured on the new streaming service. Among them are 30 Rock, Evan Almighty, Superstore, New Amsterdam, Cheers, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Law and Order: SVU, Yellowstone, Parks and Recreation, Meet the Press, Downton Abbey, Curious George, Fast & Furious, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
“Say Hello to Peacock, the new streaming service from NBCUniversal, with classic movies and shows and the biggest hits. Best of all you can watch for free,” onscreen lines read throughout the video, which is scored by “Oh My My” by Summer Kennedy.
Peacock TV is scheduled to launch for everyone on July 15. Whilst Comcast and Cox cable subscribers will be able to enjoy it for free, non-Comcast subscribers will have the chance to choose from two paid subscription tiers: one tier with ads for $5 per month and an ad-free tier for $10 per month.
NBC said that ad times on its service will be shorter than TV ad breaks, with commercials limited to up to 5 minutes per hour of viewing.
