Northwestern Mutual has launched a new ad campaign that promotes the company’s Business and Family Planning services and explores the realities and dreams of many Americans today.
One of the spots included in the campaign tells the story of a mother who gave up her career when she found out that her son has autism and started a business based on one of the kid’s pleasures: lavender baths.
“I’ve always focused on my career but when we found out that our son has autims, his future became my focus.
Lavender baths always calmed him so we turned bathtime into a business. And building it with my son has been my dream job,” the woman says in voiceover on the 30-second video, which highlights, through onscreen lines, that “There is no one American dream. There are 330 million of them”.
The commercial ends with the voiceover saying “At Northwestern Mutual, our version of financial planning helps you live your dreams today”.
The soundtrack music is the 2009 single “Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise” by The Avett Brothers, from their “I and Love and You” album.
