Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming teenage comedy series Never Have I Ever.
The show, created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, revolves around Devi, an Indian-American teenage girl (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) who, after a traumatic year, all she wants is to go from pariah to popular – but friends, family and feelings won’t make it easy on her.
The cast also includes Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Jaren Lewison, Darren Barnet, John McEnroe, Ramona Young, Lee Rodriguez, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Adam Shapiro, Niecy Nash, Cocoa Brown, Lily D. Moore, and Eddie Liu.
The trailer features the protagonist telling her friends about her plan of rebranding themselves. “I have chosen
attainable yet status-enhancing people for each of us to date,” she tells them, hoping that her plan will work. However, along their journey, they must deal with all kinds of challenges. “Buckle up for some steamy teen romance,” Ramakrishnan’s character says at the end of the trailer.
The song used in the trailer is “Unleash the Beast” by Richard Macklin.
Never Have I Ever streams April 27, only on Netflix.
