Netflix has released the trailer for the second season of Dead To Me, starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini.
The show, which premiered in 2019, stars Christina Applegate as Jen Harding, a real estate agent whose husband Ted was killed by a hit-and-run driver. Linda Cardellini as Judy Hale, a woman that Jen met at a grief support group who befriends her. Unbeknownst to Jen, Judy is the person who hit and killed her husband.
Season 2 will start from where the story was last left, at Steve’s unfortunate end. “It will be about the further exploration of this friendship, and relationship, and now very complicated dynamic, or even more complicated dynamic between these two women,” showrunner Liz Feldman declared in a press statement. “But in the most basic way, the score has been evened. What I wanted to do was create a situation where they’re forced together, and they need each other now in some ways more than they did at the beginning of season one”.
The trailer features the two women back again, trying to figure out what to do with Steve’s dead body.
“All I can think about is movies that involve wood chippers or dissolving a body in a bathtub,” Jen answers when her friend says they need to figure out what to do with the corpse. “The FBI are good at connecting dots and we are the fucking dots,” she also tells Judy.
Another scene features Jen’s teenage son saying “I thought Judy wasn’t gonna be in our lives anymore. Guess you guys can’t stay away from each other” the morning he sees Judy in their home.
All 10 episodes of the new season will launch on the streamer on May 8.
