UK’s leading men’s toiletries brand Lynx celebrates the 25th anniversary of Lynx Africa in a new ad, which debuted on TV and video-on-demand on the 22nd of April.

The spot, titled “Hot Since ’95,” takes viewers on a journey back in time by following a young man who, in ’95, drops his can of Lynx Africa, just when he needs it most and then embarks on a trip through 25 years of iconic cultural moments and trends, including bucket hats, renowned Acid House Smileys of ’90s raves, iconic games consoles, and the infamous joysticks of the video game era. Lynx ambassadors Anthony Joshua, AJ Tracey, and Calfreezy make appearances. The boxing champion features as a boxing bobblehead in a yellow car, the British rap and grime sensation AJ Tracey features as a London bus driver and YouTube star Calfreezy swings past on his very own wrecking ball.

The end of the advert sees the protagonist meeting his crush in 2020.

The soundtrack music is “Boom Shack-A-Lak” by Apache Indian.

The ad debuted on The brand has also launched a limited-edition Lynx Africa 25 can, including a snap code giving consumers a chance to enter a virtual reality of the TVC.

Lynx Africa, which has been part of British men’s lives ever since it was first launched, continues to be the nation’s bestselling fragrance with over 22 million units sold in 2019 alone. The Lynx Africa line-up is available for purchase nationwide in all UK leading supermarkets and drug stores.
