Jack Daniel’s has released a heartwarming video to show how people connect and spend time together whilst self-isolating during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The spot, created by Energy BBDO and titled “With Love, Jack,” features user-generated footage of different people of all ages and backgrounds as they find inventive ways to spend time at home and connect with their dear ones while practicing social distancing. Two neighbors are shown playing a game of Hangman, two friends are shown playing chess during a video call, other two neighbors are shown playing tic-tac-toe on the glass door, others are shown chatting online and cheering with a glass of Jack Daniels.
The video ends with the onscreen lines “Dear Humanity, Thanks for making social distancing, social. With Love, Jack. Drink Responsibly From Home”.
Serving as soundtrack is a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colours,” recorded from home by Kenny Fleetwood and Whitley Little, singers who also star in the video.
Matt Blevins, Jack Daniel’s global brand director, said in a press statement that “Showcasing how our friends around the world are rallying and uniting together during these times was our goal”. “It was about capturing real moments that are helping folks find social connection, which is something Jack Daniel’s celebrates,” he also said.
