GEICO has released a new commercial to announce its Giveback initiative, which implies giving auto, motorcycle, and RV policyholders a 15% credit on their next 6-month or 12-month policy term.
The spot, a 30-second montage of various videos filmed during the quarantine, features Leo Coltrane’s voice delivering the following message: “Thanks for sharing your DYI haircuts. Thanks for sharing your savage moves, and especially your awkward ones. Thanks for sharing your cute kids. And your adorable pets. Now it’s our turn to share with the GEICO Giveback. A 15% credit on car and motorcyle policies for both current and new customers. And because we’re committed for the long haul, the credit lasts your full policy term. So thanks again. One good share deserves another”.
The soundtrack is a song called “How We Do”.
GEICO, which joins thus the ranks of many other companies that provide support during COVID-19, says that, on average, customers can expect about $150 per auto policy without having to do anything. The insurance company is committed to providing approximately $2.5 billion through policy credits. Customers’ credit will be reflected on their paperwork at renewal between 04/08/2020 and 10/07/2020 for 6-month policies and between 04/08/2020 and 04/07/2021 for 12-month policies. GEICO is also extending this credit to those who get a qualifying auto, motorcycle, or RV quote and purchase with an effective date between April 8 and October 7, 2020.
