Netflix has dropped the trailer for its upcoming American-Canadian computer-animated comedy feature The Willoughbys, directed by Kris Pearn and Cory Evans and written by Pearn.
Based on the children’s book of same name by Lois Lowry, the film revolves around the Willoughby children who, convinced they’d be better off raising themselves, hatch a sneaky plan to send their selfish parents on vacation. According to the official synopsis, the four siblings, who soon find themselves with family services on their tail (because children need to have parents), then embark on an adventure, together with their plucky nanny, to find the true meaning of family.
The cast includes the voices of Will Forte, Maya Rudolph, Alessia Cara, Terry Crews, Martin Short, Jane Krakowski and Ricky Gervais.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse into the siblings’ adventures as they are trying to escape the family services and find a new family.
The Willoughbys launches on Netflix on April 22.
