State Farm announces, through its latest ad, that it is intended to help its customers who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and urges them to call their State Farm agent.
“For now, we’re all living a new normal. Businesses are closing. Living rooms are now offices and schools. Our world is suddenly different. But one thing stays the same. State Farm is there. To any of our customers currently facing financial burdens, call your State Farm agent. Because we’re here to help make this new normal feel just a little more normal,” the voiceover says on the 30-second ad, which features a diverse cast of Americans as they are doing various indoor activities, in the context of the pandemic of COVID-19. Some of them are keeping in touch with dear ones through video calls, others are working from home or spend more time with their children, who are studying from home, and more.
At the end of the commercial, which sees the message “We’re all in this together” handwritten by some kids and placed on their front window, the voiceover adds the company’s tagline, “Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there”.
Serving as soundtrack is the 2015 hit single “Rise Up” by American singer and songwriter Andra Day.
On March 19, 2020, State Farm announced that it has paused in-office work in all State Farm facilities across the country and 58.000 of its employees have transitioned to work from home arrangements. This rapidly changing situation may lead to increased hold times and this is why the company asks for patience from its customers.
