Universal Pictures has released the trailer for the upcoming thriller The Hunt, slated for release this spring.
Directed by Craig Zobel (Z for Zachariah, The Leftovers) from a script by Nick Cuse and Damon Lindelof, creator of the HBO series Watchmen and co-creator of the TV series Lost, the film revolves around twelve strangers who wake up in a clearing, without knowing where they are, or how they got there. They were actually chosen for “The Hunt,” an activity planned by a group of elites who gathers at a remote Manor House to hunt them down for sport. According to the official synopsis, one of the Hunted, Crystal (played by Betty Gilpin), manages to derail the elite’s plan and turn the tables on the killers, picking them off, one by one, as she makes her way toward the mysterious woman at the center of it all (Hilary Swank).
The song used in the trailer is the 1973 single “Can’t You See” by The Marshall Tucker Band, from their 1973 self-titled debut album.
The Hunt is scheduled to open in theaters this spring, on March 13.
