Conor McGregor stars in a new commercial for Reebook, showcasing the Zig Kinetica shoes.
The MMA fighter features in an animated spot, created by Deutch NY, which sees him transforming into a figurine after entering his son’s room, intended to clean up all the toys. The moment he steps over a toy train track, he turns into an action figure that fights off evil toys, including a clay monster and an evil clown.
Serving as soundtrack is Zigurine by Human featuring Thomas Keery & Justin Hori.
The spot, which marks Deutsch’s first work for Reebok, is the third in the brand’s “Sport The Unexpected” campaign. Last year, Venables Bell + Partners created a spot featuring Cardi B and her fingernails.
According to the brand, “Zig Kinetica doesn’t stand still.” Thanks to its active cushioning, it “helps energize your stride,” its energy bands of rubber “propel you forward,” and its sole-encapsulating shell “keeps you rock-solid with every step”.
The Zig Kinetica shoes, inspired by outer space exploration and the wonder of worlds unknown and coming in four different color combinations (Radiant Red and Sunbaked Orange, Black and Sunbaked Orange, True Grey and Vivid Orange, and True Grey and Black) are available for purchase for $120. Customers can also buy them with 3 interest-free payments of $40.00 with Affirm. Reebok UNLOCKED and ReebokONE members get free shipping and free returns.
McGregor, who took an over 15-month break from the ring, made a triumphant return to the Octagon earlier this year, in January, when he won the fight against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in less than one minute.
