Betty (HBO 2020 Series) - Trailer

HBO has released the official trailer for its upcoming series Betty, which revolves around a group of skateboard-loving women as they navigate the male-dominated world of skating in New York City.

The show, a spinoff to the 2018 film “Skate Kitchen,” features actresses who all starred in Skate Kitchen, including Dede Lovelace, Moonbear, Nina Moran, Ajani Russell, and Rachelle Vinberg, as Janay, who is “opinionated and loyal” and “strong willed and stubborn in ways that both help and hurt her,” Honeybear, who is “a quiet storm,” Kirt, who is “a lover (to the ladies), a fighter (to the rest of the world), and a little kid in the body of a woman,” Indigo, who is “a street-savvy hustler trapped in the body of a well-to-do art school drop-out,” and Camille, who is “guarded, perceptive, intelligent and awkward” and “wants to be down with the dudes in the skate park and has fought hard for the small space she’s carved out with them, but she needs to realize that cool points don’t actually add up to the sum of anything, especially in the eyes of the other girls”.

The song used in the trailer is the 2019 single “Up All Night” by SAULT, from their debut LP “5”.

Betty premieres on HBO this spring, on May 1.
