A long-time player of Zynga’s iconic mobile game Words With Friends, Alec Baldwin joins the ongoing 10th-anniversary celebration with a promotional content campaign. The actor, who is known for having been booted off a flight, in 2011, for the game, was announced, back in August, the newest ambassador for Words With Friends. He now stars in a series of ads – one of which he has written himself – that are set to run across Zynga’s social media over the next months.
One of the spots features Baldwin at his desk, while the voiceover says it turns out Alec Baldwin is still a bit competitive about a mobile game he’s been playing for years. It is revealed that the game is Zynga’s Words With Friends and then he is shown giving answers to several questions, such as his favorite word for 2020, who would like to play if he had the chance to play any author, who would like to watch if he had the chance to choose two famous characters to play a game together, and more.
“I have been playing Words With Friends for nearly a decade, on soundstages, in greenrooms, and on airplanes,” said Baldwin in a news release earlier this year, in August, when it talked about his partnership with the game developer. “It’s great to play a game that engages your intellect and your social side simultaneously – that’s why I spelled ‘Y-E-S’ when Zynga asked me to get involved”.
