Amazon UK’s singing boxes returned to the small screen for this year’s Christmas advert. The company has recently released its romantic-comedy-inspired holiday spot, which aims to highlight how important it is to spend quality time with the dear ones during the festive period and how “Amazon helps to deliver smiles and play a small part in creating these wonderful memories”.
The film, created by Lucky Generals, opens with a little girl playing “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love” on a miniature piano and continues with several other characters, including two young adults on a train, drivers, a tap-dancing customer, a long-married couple dancing in their living room, and even a same-sex couple embracing in the airport, alongside the Amazon singing boxes, which are featured in every scene, performing the famous song, originally performed by Solomon Burke. An Amazon employee who delivers parcels all day long and sings, as well, while driving, also takes center stage, especially at the end of the video, when she arrives home and is hugged by her two young children and husband.
The festive costumes worn by the children in the advert include a Christmas tree, a snowman and the Star of Bethlehem.
