Mercedes Benz has released a teaser for its Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake, declaring that “Embracing the inner rebel is what the new Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake is all about”.
The spot features a teenager who, visiting his adult self, feels disappointed, until he discovers the new CLA.
“Imagine you meet your 16-year-old self. What would he say about you? About your job? Your habits? Your diet? Your car?” the voiceover asks on the 30-second ad, which sees the young boy learning how his older version turned into a corporate employee, who spends numerous hours in meetings, is obsessed with devices (just like many of his coworkers, who all have their eyes glued to smartphones in the elevator, when they leave the office), and has only plants in his fridge. If all these make him feel disappointed, the adult’s Mercedes-Benz CLA makes up for everything else. “Make him proud!” the voiceover says at the end of the commercial, urging thus viewers to make their 16-year-old selves proud.
The automaker informs that the MBUX Interior Assist (Mercedes-Benz User Experience with intelligent interior assistants and refined voice recognition), featured in the ad, is expected to be available mid 2020.
The soundtrack music is “C’mon C’mon” by The Von Bondies.
The CLA Shooting Brake features the powerful four-cylinder petrol engine of the CLA 250 (165 kW/225 PS), which drives the front wheels via the 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission. The brand says that, by the time of market launch in September, there will be a wide range of diesel and petrol engines with manual or dual clutch transmission, front-wheel or all-wheel drive 4MATIC to choose from.
