EA Sports’ Madden NFL 20 is promoted through a series of new ads from agency Johannes Leonardo, that focus on the new video game modes.
One of them features a young video gamer in his living being visited by JuJu Smith-Schuster, who shows up behind him and throws a bucket full of Gatorade on his head. The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver then says he went to USC and urges the gamer to drink his shirt if he gets thirsty.
Other spots showcase the game’s Ultimate Team mode, which allows players to choose their upgrades, Face of the Franchise mode, which allows players to choose their look by combining features from different athletes and choose their college, as well, and more. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara also star.
Earlier this year, in June, Smith-Schuster also featured, alongside Mahomes and Kamara, in a spot dubbed “Superstar X-Factor,” which highlighted the X-Factor abilities (described by EA Sports as “a new progression system that makes today’s most exciting NFL Superstars feel like themselves when certain objectives are met in games).
