Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming teen rom-com Tall Girl, starring 6’1″ (and a half) former Dance Moms star Ava Michelle.
The movie, directed by Nzingha Stewart, revolves around Michelle’s character, Jodi, a 16-year-old who feels uncomfortable in her own skin because she is the tallest girl in her high school and the target of numerous jokes. Her hope to find a boyfriend taller than she is gets materialized when Swedish exchange student Stig (Luke Eisner) shows up. Unfortunately for her, the most popular girl in school also has her eyes on him.
The cast also includes Griffin Gluck and Anjelika Washington as Jodi’s best friends, who always try to help her feel confident and appreciate herself for who she is, Sabrina Carpenter as her older sister, who is a beauty queen and is intended to give Jodi a makeover in order to help her get Stig’s attention.
The song used in the trailer is “Now I Can Fly” by British singer-songwriter and record producer Rachel Rabin, better known by her stage name, Raign.
Tall Girl launches on the streaming service this fall, on September 13.
