H&M has teamed up with South African Designer Palesa Mokubung for an exclusive collection, set to hit shelves August 15.
The Swedish fashion retailer showcases, in a 30-second spot, some of the pieces included in its first-ever collaboration with an African label, South Africa’s Mantsho, that celebrates “the elegance and vibrancy of Africa”.
The line-up includes “flowy, easy fitting cuts, frills and gathers,” in a range of colour palettes from blues, browns to blacks, hues of pink and amber reds. Print dresses, skirts, tops, and trousers, as well as accessories, such as shoes, earrings and a clutch bag, are among the items that will be available for purchase. Prices range from 19.99 euros to 99.99 euros.
The video follows a group of women as they’re dancing while wearing print maxi dresses and accessories from the collection.
The song used in the ad is “Lolita Lélé” by French producer Les Gordon feat. Batuk.
The collection launches on August 15 in all South African H&M stores, as well as all H&M online markets and exclusive flagship stores around the world.
