The trailer for the third season of Fox’s procedural drama series 9-1-1 has been released.
The show, created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, explores the high-pressure experiences of police officers, firefighters and dispatchers who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations. According to the official synopsis, “these emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives”.
The cast ensemble includes Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Rockmond Dunbar and Ryan Guzman.
The trailer, released with the title “An Emergency Is The Absence Of Choice,” gives viewers a glimpse into what’s coming next for Angelenos. Footage of hundreds of people at the beach, enjoying a sunny day and doing various activities – from skateboarding, lounging in the sun, playing with the sand and taking selfies – is followed by the same people trying to escape a massive tidal wave.
Serving as soundtrack is the original version of “Cruel Summer” by Bananarama, as well as a dramatic cover version of the song.
9-1-1 returns for Season 3 on Monday, September 23 at 8/7c.
