Netflix has released the trailer for the second season of its Spanish teen thriller series Elite, announcing the premiere date.
According to the official synopsis of the show, which was created by Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona, when three working-class teens who enroll in Spain’s most prestigious private school, Las Encinas, “the clash between them and the wealthy students leads to murder”.
In season 1, María Pedraza played Marina Nunier Osuna, the series’ archetypal bad girl, who was murdered.
The cast includes Itzan Escamilla as Samuel, Miguel Bernardeau as Guzmán, Danna Paola as Lu, Álvaro Rico as Polo, Ester Expósito as Carla, Miguel Herrán as Christian, Mina El Hammani as Queen Nadia, Arón Piper as Ander and Omar Shana as Omar, Jaime Lorente as wrongly convicted king Nano. Season 2 will also see cast additions. Claudia Salas plays Rebeca, Jorge López plays Valerio, and Georgina Amorós plays Cayetana.
The trailer doesn’t reveal too much, focusing on the characters, while in the background the song “Assassin” by AU/RA is playing. However, there are some intriguing elements, such as bloody hands in a sink and a bag full of money.
Season 2 of Elite launches on the streaming service this fall, on September 6th.
