The trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy Last Christmas, starring Emilia Clarke, has been released.
Directed by Paul Feig from a screenplay by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings, the film features the Game of Thrones star as Kate, an unhappy woman who works as an elf at a year-round Christmas shop in London. Her life changes when a young man named Tom (played by Henry Golding) walks into the store and “starts to see through so many of her barriers,” according to the official synopsis, which also reveals that “As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two”.
The cast also includes Michelle Yeoh and Emma Thompson.
The trailer, scored by George Michael’s hit holiday classic “Last Christmas” and “Freedom,” gives viewers a glimpse into Kate’s life and the evolution of her relationship with Tom, who gives her inspirational speeches. “There’s no such thing as normal. It’s just being a human being is hard”. He also encourages her to do “something nice” for someone and this leads her to volunteer to a shelter and sing for those who live there.
Last Christmas opens in theaters on November 8th.
