Yelp Waitlist Commercial Opera Song

Yelp Waitlist Commercial Girl

Yelp advises people to join the waitlist before they arrive at the most popular restaurants in town.

The 15-second ad, entitled “Why Wait? Join the waitlist on Yelp,” features on one hand, Carly, a young woman who’s forced to wait for a seat in a restaurant, and Becca, another young woman who used Waitlist to let the restaurant know she was coming. Thus, we get to see a hungry Carly and a happy Becca.

“Why wait the hard wait? Try Waitlist,” an onscreen line reads at the end of the spot, which is scored by a re-work of the 1963 novelty song “Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh,” which is set to the tune of Amilcare Ponchielli’s “Dance of the Hours”.

Yelp, the #1 review site for finding restaurants, helps restaurant owners, through its Waitlist feature, to drive more diners by giving them the power to join their waitlist from the Yelp app.
