Wu-Tang: An American Saga (Hulu Series)

Hulu has released a teaser trailer for its new original biopic series Wu-Tang: An American Saga.

Inspired by “The Wu-Tang Manual” and “Tao of Wu”, and based on the true story of the Wu-Tang Clan, the 10-episode show is set in early ’90s New York at the height of the crack cocaine epidemic and tracks the Clan’s formation, a vision of Bobby Diggs aka The RZA, who unites the men torn between music and crime but eventually
rise to become the unlikeliest of American success stories.

The Wu-Tang Clan, often hailed as one of the most influential groups in the history of hip-hop, has released five gold and platinum albums, selling 40 million albums worldwide.

The teaser gives viewers a glimpse into the journey of the Wu-Tang Clan. In one of the scenes, RZA is told “If you want to make it in this world, then put in the work. You listening to beats – you ain’t listening to the whispers out in the streets.” Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa and the Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard are also featured, while in the background Wu-Tang Clan’s 1994 single “C.R.E.A.M” (which samples the Charmels’ 1967 song “As Long As I’ve Got You” throughout), from their debut studio album, “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers),” is playing.

Wu-Tang: An American Saga is scheduled to premiere September 4 on Hulu.
