The AA advertises its app, which allows you to report your breakdown and track your mechanic to your side, in a hilarious new commercial, featuring the stars of the British sci-fi show Red Dwarf.
The 60-second spot, entitled “Stellar Rescue,” has been shot like an episode of the series and sees Lister, Cat, Rimmer and Kryten (played by Craig Charles, Danny John-Jules, Chris Barrie and Robert Llewelly) as they get help from the AA patrol after they’ve broken down 3 million years into deep space. While his fellows are trying to come up with different solutions, Lister uses the AA app to report the breakdown from space and shortly a member of the car recovery service arrives to fix the problem and get the iconic spaceship Starbug back into space.
The advert, which premiered on July 1st, on ITV, ends with the taglines “The future of breakdown, today” and “Drive smart” flashing across the screen.
