Walmart urges people to impress their guests with high-quality, fresh meat and produce from Walmart in a new commercial, that promotes the retailer’s Grocery Pickup service.
The 30-second ad, entitled “Wow the Crowd,” features two women and a man as they prepare a variety of foods for their guests. Fresh corn on the cob, burgers, steak, watermelon, fruit salad, trays with various types of cheese and vegetables are only some of the “ingredients” used by the hosts to wow their family and friends coming over for a bbq party.
“Wow the Crowd. Try Grocery Pickup today” onscreen lines read at the end of the commercial, which is set to the tune of the 2015 hit single “My House” by Flo Rida, from his 2015 EP of the same name.
Walmart has been advertising its grocery pickup service in other commercials, as well. One of them, which marked the biggest and first-ever cross-platform national marketing campaign for Walmart Grocery Pickup, featured famous cars from movies and TV shows, such as the Explorer in Jurassic Park, the Flintstones’ car, Cinderella’s carriage, The Batmobile, Transformers’ Bumblebee, K.I.😭. from “Knight Rider,” Scooby Doo’s Mystery Machine, Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1, and the DeLorean time machine from “Back to the Future”.
The free curbside pickup service requires a $50 minimum purchase. Customers can shop Walmart’s food selection online anytime, anywhere, then choose a convenient pickup time and location near them. Employees will pick the freshest items for them and will load them in the trunk of customers, when they arrive, without the need for the latter to get out of the car. Customers can also enjoy free same-day pickup when they order before 1pm.
