The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019 Movie)

RoadsideFlix has released the official trailer for the upcoming film The Peanut Butter Falcon.

According to the official synopsis, the film, written and directed by actor Tyler Nilson and short filmmaker Michael Schwartz, “tells the story of Zak (Zack Gottsagen), a young man with Down syndrome, who runs away from a residential nursing home to follow his dream of attending the professional wrestling school of his idol, The Salt Water Redneck (Thomas Haden Church). A strange turn of events pairs him on the road with Tyler (Shia LaBeouf), a small time outlaw on the run, who becomes Zak’s unlikely coach and ally. Together they wind through deltas, elude capture, drink whisky, find God, catch fish, and convince Eleanor (Dakota Johnson), a kind nursing home employee charged with Zak’s return, to join them on their journey”.

The trailer gives viewers a glimpse into the journey of the three youngsters, and captures, through onscreen lines, some of the positive reviews the film received, such as “A modern-day Mark Twain fable that will win over your heart,” “Filled with heart. Laughter and adventure,” and more.

The soundtrack is “August: Me & My Friends” by Tim Myers feat. El May, from Myers’ 2015 album “The Year,” and “Walk Me Home” by Pink.

The film premiered earlier this year at SXSW, where it won the festival’s Narrative Spotlight audience award, and will be released in theaters this summer, on August 9.
