Warner Bros. Pictures has released the trailer for the upcoming New Line Cinema drama “The Good Liar,” starring Oscar winner Helen Mirren and two-time Oscar nominee Ian McKellen.
Based on the widely acclaimed novel by Nicholas Searle and directed by the Oscar-winning screenwriter of “Gods and Monsters,” Bill Condon, the film revolves around career con artist Roy Courtnay (McKellen), who meets well-to-do widow Betty McLeish (Mirren) online. According to the official synopsis, “As Betty opens her home and life to him, Roy is surprised to find himself caring about her, turning what should be a cut-and-dry swindle into the most treacherous tightrope walk of his life”.
The cast also includes Russell Tovey and Jim Carter.
The trailer features the encounter between Courtnay and McLeish and gives viewers a glimpse into the dynamic of their relationship, her son’s attempt to unveil Courtnay’s true intentions, and more.
Filmed on location in London and Berlin, The Good Liar is set to be released in cinemas on November 15.
