Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming series Trinkets, based off the 2013 YA novel by Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith.
The show, which aims to tell a story about “the healing power of friendship,” revolves around a group of three high school girls – Elodie, Moe, and Tabitha – after they meet each other in Shoplifters Anonymous. If, at first glance, the three teenagers seem totally different, it turns out they have much more in common than they had imagined.
Elodie, played by Brianna Hildebrand and described as “the ultimate outsider,” is new in town and still grieving after a traumatic life event, Moe, played by Kiana Madeira, seems tough and defiant, and Tabitha, played by Quintessa Swindell, is the queen bee of the high school.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse into the lives of Elodie, Tabitha and Moe and shows their first encounter, as well as their eventual connection. We also get to find out “the three basic rules of shoplifting”.
The song used in the ad is “Creator (vs. Switch & FreQ Nasty)” by Santogold.
Trinkets arrives June 14 only on Netflix.
