Petco Riot Commercial Song – No More Nasties

Petco Riot Commercial Dog

Petco have released a new ad, informing that, on May 1, 2019, they have set the new standard in nutrition by eliminating all dog and cat food and treats that contain artificial ingredients.

The spot features several cats and dogs taking by assault a Petco store and removing from the shelves the food containing “nasties” such as “fakey-flavs,” “sulfite snackers,” “benzoic acid biscuits,” and more. Set to the tune of the 2014 single “Riot” by Swedish singer-songwriter Ace Wilder, the commercial also sees Petco sales representatives following the animals’ example and taking down those food items.

“No more nasties. All dog and cat food artificial free” onscreen lines read throughout the 60-second ad, which also directs viewers to the “Better nutrition” section on the retailer’s website.

Petco provides, on its website, details on the ingredients that have been eliminated from its shelves, listing the artificial colors, the artificial flavors, and the artificial preservatives. The retailer declares that its team is reviewing ingredients regularly and that, for now, products with synthetic vitamins, minerals, and amino acid supplements will remain on our shelves because they are necessary to ensure a complete and balanced diet.
