Gucci has released the film for Gucci Beauty Network, the campaign for the brand’s three new lipstick collections.
Directed by Sean Vegezzi, with creative direction by Alessandro Michele, the spot features a woman laying on bed and eating a red rose in front of her TV. The show she was watching is interrupted by a message from Gucci Beauty Network. “Be Bold. Be Bright. Be Beautiful,” says Dani Miller, the singer of the band Surfbort, who first appears on screen. She is joined by models Mae Lapres, Achok Majak and Ellia Sophia Coggins, who are all sporting various shades of Gucci’s new lipsticks.
Serving as soundtrack is the 1982 single “Situation” by British synth-pop band Yazoo, from their debut album, “Upstairs at Eric’s”.
The new range of lipsticks marks the Italian fashion house’s relaunch of its line of makeup. Part of the label’s partnership with Coty, the three new lipstick collections come in diverse formulations: Rouge à Lèvres Satin with a satin finish, Rouge à Lèvres Voile with a sheer finish, and Baume à Lèvres, a lip balm with a translucent finish. They were unveiled on May 2nd, at an exclusive party at the Doubles Club in New York, where guests had the opportunity to choose from the available 58 different shades.
The Gucci Lipstick Collection launched May 4th and is be available for purchase on Gucci.com and across select boutiques in New York.
