HBO has released the official teaser for the third season of Divorce, the comedy-drama series starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Haden Church.
The show, created by Sharon Horgan, revolves around Frances (Parker) and Robert Dufresne (Church), a middle-aged couple living in Hastings-on-Hudson, who get divorced after she has an affair. According to the premium cable network, the upcoming season, consisting of six episodes, will see Frances and ex-husband Robert “encounter surprises that spin their post-divorce lives in unexpected directions”.
The cast also includes Molly Shannon, Talia Balsam, Tracy Letts, Sterling Jerins, Charlie Kilgore and Becki Newton.
The teaser opens with Frances and Robert in a family meeting that is “a little off the beaten path,” and goes on with scenes that feature actor James Lesure as Frances’ new love interest. “It’s like the fabric of our family is changing,” Frances says in voiceover. She is also heard stating that “there is potential for a lot of excitement for all of us”.
The song used in the 60-second promo is the 1974 single “Good Good Mornin'” by Andy Kim, from his 1974 LP “Andy Kim”.
Season 3 of Divorce premieres July 1 on HBO.
