Lionsgate has released the trailer for the upcoming movie Angel Has Fallen, starring Morgan Freeman and Gerard Butler.

Directed by Ric Roman Waugh from a screenplay by Robert Mark Kamen and Matt Cook and Ric Roman Waugh, the movie revolves around Secret Service Agent Mike Banning (Butler), who – after an assassination attempt on U.S. President Allan Trumbull (Freeman) – is wrongfully accused and taken into custody. According to the official synopsis, Banning escapes from capture and becomes a man on the run. Moreover, he also must evade his own agency and outsmart the FBI in order to find the real threat to the President. On his dangerous mission, which involves not only clear his name, but also keep his family from harm and save the country from imminent danger, Banning turns to unlikely allies.

The cast also includes Jada Pinkett Smith, Lance Reddick, Tim Blake Nelson, Piper Perabo, Nick Nolte, and Danny Huston.

The trailer features the assassination attempt on the president through a bunch of drones and how, afterward, Banning is considered the responsible one and arrested.

“Fallen. Framed. Forced to fight for his life.” onscreen lines read throughout the trailer, which is set to the tune of the 2017 single “Hideaway” by English musician Dan Owen, from his debut album, “Stay Awake with Me”.
Angel Has Fallen is scheduled to hit theaters this summer, on August 23.
