Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming film Wine Country, which marks the feature directorial debut of Amy Poehler.
Written by Emily Spivey and Liz Cackowski, the film, described as a hilarious and heartfelt comedy, follows a group of longtime friends as they embark on a getaway in honor of the 50th birthday of one of them, named Rebecca (Rachel Dratch). The one who comes up with the idea of going on a trip to Napa is Abby (Amy Poehler); their best friends – Val (Paula Pell), Jenny (Emily Spivey), and Naomi (Maya Rudolph) are eager to have this new experience, relax and reconnect, but as the alchohol flows, they begin questioning their friendships and futures.
The cast also includes Tina Fey, Jason Schwartzman and Cherry Jones.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse into the adventures of the five friends as they discover the Wine Country and get wine waisted. There are lots of hilarious scenes, that include falling off a piano, spilling down the sides of hills, and more.
The song used in the trailer is the 1989 hit single “Eternal Flame” by American pop rock group the Bangles, from their 1988 album Everything.
Wine Country will be available to stream on Netflix starting May 10 and in select theaters on May 8.
