Volkswagen runs a new advert in the UK for the latest addition to the Volkswagen SUV family, the T-Cross, which marks the company’s first small car SUV.
Released with the #MoreThan1Thing hashtag, the 60-second spot features English model and actress Cara Delevingne leaving a hotel and getting at the steering wheel of the compact SUV, showing the many things she can do, from playing the drums, jogging to directing a film set featuring the T-Cross. The aim was to highlight that the new T-Cross is a cool companion for all occasions and that it also has multiple facets.
The soundtrack is the 1983 song “My Love For You” by American band ESG (Emerald Sapphire & Gold), from their debut album, “Come Away with ESG”.
Delevingne, who was enlisted, in 2018, to act as an ambassador for the T-Cross, announced her enthusiasm for the new crossover in a press statement. “I travel all the time, so working with Volkswagen, the largest automaker in the world, is a perfect partnership for me. The T-Cross is more than just a City-SUV – it has multiple facets (like me!), and I love how stylish it is!!” she said.
Unveiled in October 2018, the T-Cross comes with a choice of four turbocharged engines, three gasoline and one diesel, which range from 70 to 110kW. In terms of safety, it is packed with a variety of features including the Front Assist collision warning system, City Emergency Braking, Lane Assist, Hill Start Assist and two systems to facilitate changing lanes, Blind Spot Detection and Rear Traffic Alert. The cabin boasts 8-inch touch screen, a fully customizable 10.25-inch digital instrument console on the dashboard, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, and more.
Next year, the automaker will launch the ID. CROZZ4, which will be the brand’s first fully-electric SUV to be launched on the market.
