SKODA Advert Song – British Artists Performing I Gotta Be Me

SKODA Advert - Paloma Faith

For its latest UK brand campaign, SKODA has teamed up with five incredible music artists to give their own unique take on a Sammy Davis Jr. classic.

The automaker, which states it celebrates “individuality and having the confidence to be yourself,” has released a new advert starring the five musicians. Thus, the spot, created by Fallon, United Kingdom, features Lady Leshurr, Alexis Ffrench, The Sherlocks, The Kingdom Choir and Paloma Faith performing their version of Davis Jr’s 1968 song “I Gotta Be Me”. Five different scenes, just like the musical genres covered by the British artists (such as classical, pop-rock and grime) showcase different SKODA models including the Fabia, Karoq, Kodiaq vRS and the new Scala, which launches in the UK this summer.

Paloma Faith has starred in marketing stunts for SKODA also in the past. An installment dubbed “Make Your Own Kind Of Music,” introducing the new ŠKODA Karoq, illustrates, through a series of flashbacks, her struggle to make it in the music industry. Set to Faith’s own version of the 1960s iconic song “Make Your Own Kind of Music,” the advert includes footage of the British singer/songwriter/actress now, as a successful artist, performing her on a stage, and mother, driving the new compact SUV, with her baby daughter in the backseat.

SKODA has also launched, in partnership with Paloma Faith and the charity Prince’s Trust, the SKODA Driver’s Seat Initiative, a programme aimed at identifying people aged 16-25 who show a “Driven By Something Different” attitude, have a passion for the arts and want to gain new skills to better themselves and their community.

Skoda’s “Driven by Something Different” brand campaign, launched in early 2017, also featured Sir Bradley Wiggins.
