Samsung has released an official TV commercial for the Galaxy Tab S5e, presented as “A lot more tablet in our thinnest frame”.
The spot follows the “journey” of a Galaxy Tab S5e as it gets passed on from one family member to the other through walls and corners. After watching a movie and playing music on a streaming service, the mother passes the tablet to her teenage daughter, slipping it underneath her room door, which is “adorned” with lots of “Do not enter” warnings. The latter takes a photo for a film project, but is interrupted by a phone call for her younger brother. Thus, she passes the tablet to him, who, asked to give it back while he was playing a videogame, lets it falls into the hands of another sister, who uses it to change the TV channel and scare another sibling, in the living room.
Eventually, the Galaxy Tab S5e ends up in the hands of a man – the father, most probably – who’s cooking in the kitchen and decides to change the song that was playing – France Gall’s 1964 hit single “Laisse tomber les filles” and play his favorite song instead – Spandau Ballet’s 1983single “True”.
“A lot more tablet in our thinnest frame” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercial, before the tagline “Do What You Can’t” appears, as well.
