Canon advertises its new instant camera printers IVY CLIQ and IVY CLIQ+, featuring Canon’s instant-shoot, print, and stick technology, in a new commercial, released with the tagline “Shprinck the World”.
The spot, created by FCB New York, features different people as they encourage viewers to shprinck various things – from parents to teachers, horses, and even a stranger. They all encourage the action of shoot + print + stick, known as shprinck, for you to stick the photo wherever you want.
The opera song serving as soundtrack is a re-work of the 1963 novelty song “Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh,” which is set to the tune of Amilcare Ponchielli’s “Dance of the Hours”.
CLIQ and CLIQ+ are the newest instant camera printers for shooting and sharing prints on the go included in the brand’s IVY line-up. Following the Canon IVY mini photo printer, which was released last year, these two new devices come with added camera functionality and more print options. The IVY CLIQ is a 5-megapixel camera that features a square selfie mirror and auto-flash, as well as a microSD slot for capturing and exporting photos and a USB port for charging. The device, available in three different colors – ladybug red, bumblebee yellow, and ocean blue – is capable of printing 2×3-inch and now 2×2-inch Zink prints that is user selectable with a button.
The IVY CLIQ+ boasts a higher resolution 8-megapixel camera and a much larger selfie mirror with ring lighting. The ring light can use either 8 or 4 LEDs and the flash can be set to either Auto, Fill, or Off. Another added feature is the ability to use Bluetooth and connect to the free Canon Mini Print App to print images on the IVY CLIQ+ from smartphones.
The IVY CLIQ+ is available in sapphire blue, ruby red, and pearl white and is priced at $159.99.
The “Shprinck the World” campaign consists of social, digital, experiential and in-store activations, along with engaging content creators and influencers.
