Netflix has dropped the trailer for its upcoming film The Perfect Date, starring Noah Centineo.
Directed by Chris Nelson from a screenplay by Steve Bloom and Randall Green, the comedy follows Centineo as Brooks Rattigan, a high-schooler who, in order to earn money for college, creates an app where anyone can pay him to play the perfect stand-in boyfriend for any occasion. The cast also includes Laura Marano, Camila Mendes, Odiseas Georgiadis, Matt Walsh, Joe Chrest Carrie Lazar, Alex Biglane, Blaine Kern III, and Zak Steiner.
The trailer spoilers quite a lot, revealing how, when real feelings emerge, things get complicated for Centineo’s character, who is “caught” between two different girls – his very first faux date Celia (played by Marano) and his long-time crush (played by Mendes).
The song used in the trailer is the 2018 single “This Feeling” by American DJ and production duo The Chainsmokers, featuring guest vocals from American singer Kelsea Ballerini.
The Perfect Date premieres on Netflix on April 12.
