Samsung Bixby Commercial - Shark Costumes

Samsung touts its virtual assistant – Bixby – in a series of new ads, highlighting the variety of situations it can be useful.

One of the spots features a guy costumed as a shark at a party dancing with a girl and wondering what’s the song playing in the background. As he tries to unlock his phone with his pectoral fins (because the costume is designed to cover the wearer’s hands), another guy, wearing the same shark costume, shows up, asking Bixby about the song. The virtual assistant gives him in a matter of seconds the requested information, which makes the first “shark” look at him a little bit envious.

The song actually playing in the background is “Last Words” by D00f, from the 2018 album “Fear”.

The tech giant informs that Bixby understands natural, conversational language along with context, like the email you’re reading or the photo you just took. “Bixby lives inside your Camera, Gallery and Internet to give you a deeper understanding of what you’re looking at. Just tap the Vision icon in your viewfinder and Bixby will serve up contextual icons: translation, QR code detection, landmark recognition or shopping,” Samsung states on its website.
